Flutist
Ciprian Ignat, a native of Romania, has achieved many accomplishments
since coming to the United States in 1998. Mr. Ignat is currently
striving to finish his degree in flute performance which he started
at the Gheorghe Dima music conservatory in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.
After coming to the United States, Mr. Ignat attended USC and studied
with Jim Walker in the advanced study program for flute performance.
Mr. Ignat currently performs with the Los Angeles Flute Orchestra
(LAFO), which is currently recording a CD to be released in the
summer of 2005. He also performed with the LAFO at the National
Flute Associations annual convention in Las Vegas in August 2003.
Mr. Ignat has also performed with the USC Thorton Symphony Orchestra
and Quintet, and the Brentwood-Westwood Symphony Orchestra.
Mr. Ignat has won numerous flute competitions including the Culver
City Marina Westchester Symphony young artists’ concerto competition
in October 2003, Rio Hondo Symphony young artists competition in
January 2003, Bellflower Symphony concerto competition in March
2003, and won the young artists Peninsula music festival competition
in June 2003.
In addition to performing and actively teaching privately, Mr.
Ignat also specializes in flute repair including overhauls, repading,
adjustments, and oiling for both student and professional instruments.
He also sells fine leather case covers for flute and piccolos under
the name Ciprian Designs, which were introduced at the NFA convention
in August 2004.
Ciprian was born and raised in Romania and started his studies
at the age of 9 at the music conservatory in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.
At age 21, he came to the U.S. to study flute performance. His teachers
have included Gavril Costea, Jim Walker, and Anne Zentner.
